MostValuable Reviews: Mr Hyde's 'Chronicles of The Beast Man'

"Killin me's a crock a shit/ The sarcophagus is sick/Your esophagus is slit, hangin' from yo bottom lip"

Ok, so there's probably not a lot of people who know of Mr. Hyde and the crew he rolls with. With Necro and ILL BILL on his side, Mr. Hyde has been able to ride their coat tails to a higher road. But on 'Chronicles of The Beast Man', Hyde surprisingly holds his own. When I first heard of Hyde a few years ago, I thought he was very predictable with his flow and rhyming, always dropping the rhymes on a steady basis and never really changing his flow up. This is evident on some songs on the album, but for the most part he is very energetic and does well to change things up. I was disappointed to only see Necro on one track, knowing that Hyde and Necro are inseparable, I thought they would have more collabos ESPECIALLY on Street Veterans 3 where they killed it the first time around.
Regardless, the production is really good and I wouldn't be surprised if Necro and DJ Eclipse had a big hand in it. For all you kids that like that gruesome, grimey DEATH RAP style this album is a warm up for when Necro drops his anticipated new album (Name Unknown). I have provided a few tracks to get your mouths watering!

Pemberton Review Continued...

B: The HOVA chant & diamonds were thrown up immediately following the band before Jay. Honeyz tits out, blunts ready and shortly after 8:15, Jigga came strollin out, shades low & full of energy to match tha mobb of Canadian love. ROCked a couple American Gangster tracks, then got right down to bizzzness mannn. Brought Bleek out for You Don't Know & Is That Yo Bitch, where he flossed his flow, spittin the last bars acapella. Sound quality was brilliant and I had myself posted center left, few people back from very front. Dirt Off Ya Shoulda, Jigga What, Jigga Who, Show Me What You Got to name a few were played to fucking perfection. Smoothed it out for the ladies with Girls, Girls, Girls and then told em' how it really is with Can I Get A Fuck You! Big Pimpin, Hard Knock Life and plenty of classics filled what I'm leaving out before he closed with Encore!! I would have loved some Reasonable Doubt cuts but he capped it perfectly as the band played out the end of Encore by removing his sunnys to get a proper look at everybody. Out of appreciation to some notebales in the crowd he started shoutin peeps out, "Homie down here who knew every lyric... Shorty with her titties out the whole show..." and on. He scanned toward my section and I was showing my respect, he looks down and throws me into the shouts, "Dude with the hood up, goin nuts down here." Ah Ha NUFF said, shit was over and above.. What more can I say!

B-Ro & MostValuable Review PMV...

MOST: When I arrived on the grounds Saturday afternoon, I was so surprised at the shear size of the crowds. Over 45,000 people were there to enjoy the music and the other activities. Security was so minimal that I was able to sneak in booze that kept me going for most of the day. Saturday was mostly rock n' roll acts like The Tragically Hip and Tom Petty, both who just killed their sets! Sunday was the day for us hip hop heads...N.E.R.D and Jay-Z were scheduled to perform...

N.E.R.D - Pharrell and his crew were 45mins late but it was worth the wait. They shook the whole fuckin' place up! They had so much energy and stamina that it made people crazy. I was right in the mosh pit getting crushed by body surfers and other goons who just didn't give a fuck! N.E.R.D played some new shit like 'Spazz' and "Everybody Nose' but also stuck to their old hits. For their 45min set I give them 2 thumbs up plus an extra thumb cuz Pharrell became such a pimp for inviting all the ladies in the area up on stage (and he even took a few with him backstage). I'ma let B-Ro review and explain the ferocity of Jay-Z and his killer set so keep visiting to find out what he thought!

B-Ro's Album Reviews...

Z-Ro & Trae's - A.B.N. "It Is What It Is" 2008


Despite feeling a bit like a mixtape due to a few old songs, (In My City, No Help & Who's The Man has been out for a while) Z-Ro & Trae came with solid lyrics and hard flow like we're used to. Always for me, I think Trae spits better than Z-Ro, however Ro comes with the Nate Dogg'ish courses on several tracks. Those qualities they share always mix well with their commonly used melodic, well produced beats. On this effort there's those few tracks I could do without but I was certainly feelin', Umm Hmm, Down In Texas & Picture Me. An updated Miss My Dawg including new verses and shouts to the late Pimp C was also noted. As a big fan of these 2 I'd give a generous 3.5/5 (still good to listen n' light some kush to). It has also been brought to my attention, Trae has been working hard on his ABN (A Better Neighboorhood) campaign in cities throughout Texas. He could even have a day named after him in those areas later this month... appropriately being Trae Day. Big ups to Trae for that and I look forward to any new music coming from him or Z-Ro! Smoke on!

MostValuable Reviews...Three 6 Mafia: Last 2 Walk

Well after a decade and one less member, Three 6 Mafia comes out with their highly anticipated album 'Last 2 Walk.' However, selling an abysmal 77,000 in its first week, people must wonder what happened...

Basically, the album is split up in two. It's almost like DJ Paul and Juicy J had their way with that GRIMEY SHIT but couldn't keep themselves away from that POP SHIT. One thing is for sure though, their beats are UNMATCHED.

Songs like 'I Told 'EM,' 'Corner Man' & 'Trap Boom' remind the listener that 36 is still posted up on that corner slangin' and bangin'. These tracks are the essence of Three 6 Mafia, and you can tell that their skills shine. But songs like 'I'd Rather' and 'Hood Star' are TOO POPPY and put a bit of a damper on the disc.

Overall, this album is TIGHT and I was really surprised when it sold so poorly. If you are a real 36 fan and love them SNARE-FILLED BEATS go and cop this shit!

T.O.S Comes Up Short

Unfortunately for the Unit, their second attempt as a group did not match their first. Terminate On Sight, although full of FIRE and HARD TRACKS, only sold 102,000 copies, whereas Beg For Mercy started off with 377,000 sold.
